Ilene L. Lee
Ilene L. Lee 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at St. Luke’s hospital in Cedar Rapids. A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Saturday the 26th of April at the Bethel A.M.E. Church. Following her wishes, Ilene’s body has been cremated with burial to follow at a later date.
She was born on August 25, 1936, to Ollie and Lottie (Hurst) Tobin in Cedar Rapids. She attended Roosevelt High school, graduating in 1955.
Ilene worked for Wilson–Sinclair for 40 years before retiring. She was an active member and Stewardess of the Bethel A. M. E. Church and numerous clubs and societies. She was an avid bowler in the 1970’s through the 1990’s.
Survivors include her son: Charles Stoudamire of Cedar Rapids; nieces: Connie Nesbitt, Dorene Collins, Flame Cotton; nephews: Donald Collins, Marvin Hagen, Steven Tobin, Quincy Tobin and Justin Tobin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ollie and Lottie (Hurst) Tobin; sisters: Wanda Tobin, Beverly (Tobin) Collins, Magnolia (Hurst) Fields; brothers: Alvin Hurst, Hubert Tobin, Ollie Tobin Jr.; aunts: Nettie (Hurst) Mills and Naomi (Tobin) Ampey.
Ilene was a loving mother, sister and aunt. She has left us with wonderful memories and we feel blessed to have had her in our lives.
