Lloyd A. Vogt, 84, of Waterloo, died Sunday, September 22 at Cedar Valley Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born November 2, 1928 in Guttenberg, Iowa, son of Ferdinand and Melinda (Kann) Vogt. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and Korean War. He was a plumber and has been a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union for 45 years. Survived by: a daughter, Sherri (Larry) Willard of Evansdale; 2 granchildren, Laura (Brian) McCraney of Sauk Rapids, MN and Matt (Amanda) Willard of Dubuque; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 5 brothers, Harold (Red), LaVerne , Raymond, Floyd and Gene. Lloyd''s fondest memories, beside his family and friends, was his service in the Navy, particularly on the aircraft carrier US Essex during the Korean War.
