Anne Ledvina

Anne Ledvina, 80, of Cedar Rapids died at her home on Wednesday October 16, 2013 after a long illness. A private family service was held. Iowa Cremation was in charge of arrangements Survivors include two sons, Mark of Cedar Rapids and Kurt of Hiawatha; two grandchildren Cassandra and Alexander and great grandchildren Celayna. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Anne was born on September 10, 1933 in Borneo, Malaysia the daughter of George and Elizabeth Carpenter. She married Richard Ledvina on December 20, 1958 in Iowa City. Richard passed away in 1995. Anne worked at F.M.C., Midland Forge, and later as secretary at the University of Iowa for over 20 years retiring in 2006. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. Anne was a very talented writer who wrote and published ''Enemy Planes Above Us" an account of her childhood in England during WWII. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and the time spent with her beloved family, She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
