Kai D Hauglid
Kai D. Hauglid, 46, of Iowa City, IA. passed away peacefully November 13, 2013 (4:23 p.m.) at The Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy with family by his side after a short, yet long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 8, 1967 in Mpls., MN. to Darren and Phyllis Hauglid. Kai enjoyed selling real estate most of his adult life. He had a passion for many things including, but not limited to: walking, cooking, hunting, shopping, art, music, tennis, exploring new things, new places, and traveling to particular areas he enjoyed. He loved ALL people and touched many lives while he was here. Kai will be missed by most of those that knew and loved him. Early on, he spent 23 years of his life with Theresa (Farinella) Hauglid of Circle Pines, MN. He is survived by her and their three loving children: Savannah Hauglid of Madison, WI., Kai II, and Alainnah Hauglid, both of Circle Pines, MN. He is also survived by his loving parents Darren and Phyllis Hauglid, both of Minnesota, two sisters: Kimberly Rose (Robert) of Carroll Plantation, ME, Kea Marie (Christian) Goodman of Floyds Knobs, IN, six nieces, two nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. “Special thanks” to the mgmt. and staff of Dolphin Lake Point Enclave Apartments, hospice staff, and friends, some of which we know and don’t know that extended their love and care to him as he clung to the life he loved in Iowa. Direct cremation was chosen. Family and close friends will gather for a celebration of his life Sunday November 24, 2013, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony Community Center 3301 Silver Lake Road St. Anthony Village, MN 55418. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Mpls., MN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to his children: Hauglid 1001 O’Keeffe Avenue #115 Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590
