Robert Eugene Peters
Robert Eugene Peters, 81, of Davenport passed away on Thursday May 16, 2013 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport. A private family interment will be scheduled at a later date.
Robert is survived by his wife Elizabeth Elaine Peters; 5 children: Cynthia Carson of Waukee, IA, Thomas O. Peters of St. Joseph, MI, Roberta Ostwinkle of Maquoketa, IA, Julie Carbee of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Robert G. Peters of Joplin, MO; 11 grandchildren; siblings Pauline Breneman and Kenneth Peters, both of Columbus Junction, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings William C. Peters, Lillian M. Fisher, Keith A. Peters, and Patsy L. Peters.
Robert Eugene Peters was born April 19, 1932 to Omrie and Verice (Bell) Peters in Cotter, Iowa. He attended Cotter Consolidated School for 12 ½ years and earned a degree from the American Institute of Commerce. He served for three years in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert worked for the Iowa American Water Works Company for 28 years. He was a member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family. Robert will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
