Delbert R. Remington

Delbert R. Remington, 88, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Per his wishes he was cremated. Memorial Service will be held on March 16 at 10:30 AM with a visitation beginning at 9:45 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Anamosa. A luncheon at the church will follow the mass. Delbert was born on October 10, 1924 to James and Dora Remington. He attended country school and graduated from Olin High School in 1942. He then started farming with his parents. He farmed and took care of his parents until 1973. Delbert married Regina Brady in 1953. After retiring from the Anamosa Reformatory, he worked for Jeff Hanken Construction until his retirement from there in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Regina; 4 daughters, Brenda (Scott) Hansen, Denise (Joe) Rohwedder, Linda (Mike) Greene, and Nancy (Steve) Soper; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Steve; grandson, Danny Soper; 4 brothers, Howard, Albert, Loren, and Leslie; and one sister, Ethel Kennebeck. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
