Joan Marie Decious
What a Sweetheart she was and a person who filled our lives with many laughs and great times on our bike rides, parties and ski trips over the years. We all have fond memories of Joan and her great personality. I also had the pleasure of working with Joan for many years at the prison in Anamosa and even at work, she made us laugh with her great sence of humor. She will certainly be missed but we were lucky to have known her and shared many good times together. Thanks Joan, for the Great Times.
Lynn, We are sorry to hear of Joan's passing.......so enjoyed seeing you both at Ed & Crystals for family functions. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lynn & family, Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Robyn and I are so sorry to learn about Joan's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Joan. We are grateful to have been able to visit with the both of you during our trip to Anamosa in 2011. God bless!
Lynn, We are so sorry to hear of Joan's passing, but we know she is enjoying those angel wings in a world without pain! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She fought a courageous battle, and she is to be admired. God bless you! Randy and Lisa Williams
Dear Lynn, I remember the day I met "Joni" as I caller her. It was my first day of working at the Ghosh Center, and I opened the door, and there she was, sitting in the corner chair, all bundled up and looking so ill. Our eyes met, our souls connected and I had to go and see her and talk to her right away. From that moment on she has had a special place in my heart. She was so strong all the time, fighting the good fight. She had many good days. Whenever she was getting treatment she so enjoyed her leg massages that I gave her, it was relaxing and comforting to her. She made me feel good that I was able to do this little thing for her. The last day I saw her she came and got me from the room and thanked me, she said those massages meant so much to her. I was so glad I was able to give her a big hug tell her that I loved her one last time. Both of you will always be part of me. I will miss her very much, but I know she is and will be watching over all of us everyday. I will continue to keep you Lynn in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and keep you in his loving arms. Karen
To Lynn and the rest of Joan's family, May God's love and grace ease the pain of this trying time. Heaven's gain may be our loss, but surely Joan will show them all how to laugh and have some fun! Every person who met her remembers her fondly, we hope you get solace from knowing how much she was loved.

My friend, Joan. I am so grateful to have had you as a friend. I have so many great memories of our times as two single people in Anamosa. Our trip to Dallas! So thankful we got to visit in July. I will miss you, my friend. May you rest in peace. You deserve it. In love, Lynda
Lynn, I was out of town when I got word of Joans death. Only this week I was sorting through pictures and run across our Colorado vacation pictures. It is hard to believe those two women with cancer never lagged behind even in the high altitude. My concern is for you now and I plan to contact you a few weeks down the road for breakfast or lunch just for a chat. Be good to yourself while the healing takes place, because it will take a while before the old Lynn feels like a whole person again. My prayers are with you and take good care of yourself. Dear Lynn, We were so sorry to hear of Joan's death and we are sorry that we will not be able to be there for the visitation and service. You are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. Joan was such a loving, special person and touched so many lives. She will certainly be missed by many people, but especially you. Faith in God and knowing that others care will help you through this sad time.

The last time I saw her was at our highschool class reunion and I was so impressed by her positive attitude. I really thought she might beat that cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Joan was a very dear and close friend to my mother, Donna Maxine Williams. They worked closely together at the Iowa Men's Reformatory, in Anamosa. My mother cherished her friendship with Joan and my father sends his deepest sympathies to Joan's family. (John Williams, son of Russ and Donna Williams)
We have nothing but great memories of time spent with Joan and Lyn as we bicycled across Iowa Her courage in facing cancer was a great inspiration for Rhonda. We shall always hold her perpetual smile in our hearts. May God hold Lynn and the rest of your family close.
