George Onken
George Onken, Jr., 71. of Cedar Falls, formally of Nashua passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center following a sudden illness. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m., at College Hill Lutheran Church, 2322 Olive Street, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the memorial service.
George was born May 3, 1941, the son of George and Ruby Onken and served 20 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. George retired from Standard Golf Company of Cedar Falls after 21 years of employment.
George is survived by his wife, Sandra of Cedar Falls, three sons, Rick (Donita) Onken of New Hartford; John (Deb) Onken of Masonville; Michael Lofquist of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Angela (Charles) Conkling of Cedar Falls; Dawn (Mark) Zook of Traer; two sisters, Janice Hogan of Montclair, CA; Denice (Michael) Hosea of Cedar Falls; one brother Lester (Connie) Onken of Harpers Ferry and 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
George is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
