Garnet Blohn

Garnet Blohn, 81 of Cedar Falls, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Western Home Martin Center. 

Garnet was born June 13, 1932 in Atlantic Iowa to Milton and Ruth (Welton) Blohn. Garnet graduated from Atlantic high school in 1950 and went on to attend a college in Maryville MO. After attending high school Garnet enlisted in the Marines where he then went and served in the National Guard after moving to Cedar Falls. 

On November 8, 1954 Garnet married Lorna Boseck in Griswald Iowa. Garnet taught business at Glidden and Stormlake high school for five years he then went on to work for the federal government where he then retired from after thirty years of service.

Garnet is survived by his loving wife Lorna, three sons David (Sandy) Blohn of Washington, Edward (Jennifer) Blohn of South Carolina, and Alan Blohn of California; Five grand sons Ben Blohn of FL., Chris (Amanda) of Cedar Falls, Baron Blohn of KS, Brad Blohn of OK, Connor Blohn of SC; two great grandchildren Garret, Marie Blohn, and a sister Wanda (Dar) Petersen of AZ.

Garnet is proceeded in death by is parents and his brother Terry.
