Gerald (Jerry) Arthur Snyder, 77, of Mount Pleasant, IA passed away at his home Monday August 5, 2013. As were his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Jerry is survived by his wife Susan K. Snyder of Mount Pleasant, IA; children Jerry (Becky) Snyder Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Linda (John) Feehan, William Snyder, Jim (Chris) Snyder, Mike Earp, and Billi Jo Earp, all of Mount Pleasant, IA; 16 grandchildren: Carrie (John) Anderson, Jerry (Bambi) Snyder III, Jennifer Crew, Robin Crew, Ben Wood, Heather (Salvador) Fonseca, John (JJ) Feehan Jr., Josh Feehan, Haley Snyder, Katie Snyder, Kelsey Snyder, Kirsten Snyder, Tanner Earp, Scott Wichhart Jr., Bryce Chunn, and Jacob Earp-Schillie; 13 Great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and 2 siblings: Bob (Deb) Snyder of Muscatine, IA, and Cindy Billings of Burlington, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 siblings: Wendell Hester, Tom Snyder, Abe Snyder, and Sandi Pollock; daughter Jorene Wood; and great grandson James Turner. Gerald Arthur Snyder was born March 20,1936 to Harold T. and Wilda M. (Hester) Snyder in Burlington, IA. He attended Iowa Wesleyan College. Gerald married Janice Seager on June 11, 1954. They later divorced. He married Susie Potter-Earp on December 29, 1978. Gerald worked for the Iowa Ammunition Plant in West Burlington for 15 years. He then worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant for 22 years before retiring. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was of Catholic faith. His hobbies included photography and spending time with his family. Memorial donations in Gerald''s name may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa and the American Cancer Society.
