Obituary for Georgia Barnhizer

Georgia A. Barnhizer, 83, of Urbandale passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Urbandale Health Care Center in Urbandale. She was surrounded by her family. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Georgia Ann Barnhizer was born on February 14, 1930 to Paul and Georgia Smith Berney in Leigh, Nebraska. Georgia was married to William Dean Barnhizer, and later divorced. Georgia is survived by 7 of her children, David (Beth) of Newport Ridge, CA; John (Karen) Des Moines, IA; Pete (Sylvia) of Long Beach, CA; Mary Schrader Des Moines, IA; Kathy Barnhizer of Newport Beach, CA; Micheal Barnhizer of Costa Mesa, CA; and Linda (Rodney) Brenneman of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Georgia had 11 grandchildren: Nicole, Leslie, Jeremy, Patrick, Natalie, Molly, Amber, Amanda, Paul, Lindsay, and Anthony. Georgia was preceded in death by 2 children, Stephen and Susan. Georgia was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers, John and Tom Berney and a sister Regina Markel. Georgia''s favorite things were her kids and grandkids and her family. She enjoyed it most when there was a large group of all of us together :O) She was fortunate to get to use her kid skills working with the YMCA Camp in Boone, Iowa. She blessed us all with her sense of humor, love, patience, kindness and listening :O) LOVE YOU FOREVER MOM! Memorial Contributions can be made to YMCA Camp in Boone in Boone, Iowa.
