Darlene Myers, 87, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant, IA. Darlene Schwartz was born to Nick and Margaret (Kruse) Schwartz on October 14, 1925 in West Point, Iowa. She married her husband, Charles, in West Point on April 22, 1950, who passed away on November 24, 2007. She was a lifelong resident of the Donnellson, IA area and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Heritage Club, and Senior Citizens Club of West Point. She was also a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church of West Point. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, rug weaving, crafts and playing cards. She is survived by her sons, Hal (Anita) Myers of St. Paul, Gene (Kittie) Myers of Farmington, and Dan (Sue) Myers of Donnellson, four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two great-grandsons, one step great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents, five brothers, three sisters and two infant siblings. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, West Point. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary''s Church. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, West Point with Rev. Dennis Hoffman officiating. The body has been cremated. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Point. A dinner for relatives and friends will be held at the American Legion Hall immediately after the funeral. Iowa Cremation of Cedar Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. Online condolences can be left for the family at iowacremation.com
