our deepest sympathy to all the Frett family--friends from our children's school days. was so good to visit with Bonnie a couple months ago at Walmart. Craig his school days with Jim. The years go by all too quickly. Again, our sympathy and prayers.
First, and above all to Ray's family, my remembrance of and sadness for the passing of Ray. As the son of one of Ray's co-workers at NW Bell, I had ample time to encounter Ray, be it through work at the west side phone garages, or downtown Cedar Rapids. We went to the same church, his son Tom and I were childhood friends, and Ray and Bonnie socialized with my parents. So it is a varying memory full of goodness and laughter and labor. Ray was one of four guys who essentially installed the phone lines in downtown Cedar Rapids after World War II, they helped make the city flourish. They were the unsung heroes who did the work, loved their families, and were devoted to church and friends. Ray will be well remembered.
I remember a time when Uncle Ray, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle Ed and Aunt Lois came to Colorado to hang out with my Dad and stepmom Amy, we sat on a porch and laughed like hell when a VW bug full of people floated down the Colorado River
A wonderful man that will be missed by many. I'm so glad I got to know Ray during the winters he spent in Arizona.
Bonnie and family I have many fond memories of our time we spent together at Ma Bell and in your home. Ray was one of my favorite people, with a great smile and personality all the time. I still tell the story of the people I knew that had a urinal in their basement with all those boys. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family Love Joan (Segebarth) and Jim Bex
