My mother and father grew up with Les and Ruthie in the Iowa Soldiers Orphans Home. We always stopped by when we were near their house in Des Moines and then it was attending the reunions. She has always been Aunt Ruthie to my sister and I. She always teferred to us as looking like a Higdon girl. She was always full of life, funny and spunky. And I wills remember her tan and her and her two friends that dressed alike at the reunions.

So very saddened by the loss of Ruth. She was quite the gal and I always looked forward to seeing her. She was so funny one never knew what she would say but there was a tender side to her also when she talked about her family and how much she loved them. May she rest in Peace. She will never be forgotten!

I want to say that Ruthie was a wonderful woman. I always new we could enjoy a good laugh together. It was a pleasure to take care of her at Windsor Manor. I was very sad to hear of her passing but I know she is in a good place and will see her again.
