Yvonne June Zimmerman
Yvonne June (DeHoet) Zimmerman, 83, of Williamsburg, IA, passed away Friday November 2, 2012 at the Highland Ridge Care Center. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, 25 May, 2013, 3pm, at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery, six miles east of Centerville, IA.
Yvonne is survived by her brother Richard Stone, Euless, TX; four children: John DeHoet, Marengo, IA, Robert DeHoet (Charlene), Murphysboro, Illinois; Jeff DenHoed (Nancy), Aurora, CO; and Lisa Siegrist (David), Britt, IA. Fifteen grandchildren: Leah DeHoet; Terase Van Rheenen(Justin), Demian DeHoet, Rachel (DenHoed) Grant, Andrea DenHoed, Mark DenHoed, Clarissa DeHoet, Arianna DeHoet, Andrew Siegrist, Alyson Siegrist, Ashley Siegrist, Aaron Siegrist, Aric Siegrist, Austin Siegrist, Anthony Siegrist, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Evelyn and Ruth, grandson Jeremy DeHoet, and great-grandchild Landyn Spears.
Yvonne June Stone was born June 29, 1929 to Warren and Lavene (Owens) Stone. She attended Simpson College where she met Leonard DeHoet, to whom she was married for 25 years, divorced, and eventually married Robert Zimmerman of Kirksville, MO. Yvonne grew up on a farm and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed riding horses and showed horses for Dick McIntyre of Promise City, IA as well as her own Tennessee Walking Horse, Tony, in area horse shows. After living many years in Centerville, IA, Yvonne moved to Kirksville, MO, where she owned and managed Zimmerman Polled Herefords. She showed her prized bull, Max, at the National Western Stock Show in Denver and served a term as president of a Missouri Polled Hereford Association. Due to failing health, Yvonne spent her final years in a Williamsburg, IA nursing home. She put her faith in Jesus Christ for salvation from the penalty for sin and the gift of eternal life.
