My deepest sympathies to all the family. Mr. Schmelz and family were long ago neighbors on the west side, when Edgewood Road was a two lane blacktop road in the 1960s. I do remember growing up in the neighborhood and going to school with Bernadine. I also recall seeing the family as parishioners of St. Jude from 1999 on. They were always faithful and solid fellow worshippers at St. Jude. May Mr. Schmelz rest in peace and his family remember his fruitful and devout life.
