Alphonse John Tieskoetter

Alphonse (Fonse) J. Tieskoetter, 87, of Ossian, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM at the St. Francis De Sales Church. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday December 5 at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis De Sales Church, with inurnment in St Francis De Sales Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Anita of Ossian; children Dorothy Hackman of Chandler AZ, Terri (Tom) Bushman of Ossian, Dave Tieskoetter of Sun Lakes, AZ, Steve (Jan) Tieskoetter of Austin, MN, Marty (Deb) Tieskoetter of Ossian, Randy (Kim) Tieskoetter of Ossian, sister Agatha Hoffman of Ionia, IA, 21 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren. Alphonse was preceded in death by an infant son, 2 infant daughters, parents Bernard & Mary, brothers Joe, Paul, Frank, Louis, Felix, sisters Helen Hemesath & Hedwig Hoffman.* Alphonse John Tieskoetter was born September 14, 1925 near Festina, Iowa, the son of Bernard and Mary (Elsbernd) Tieskoetter. Alphonse married Anita Marie Thuente on June 4, 1947 in Festina, Iowa and to this union nine children were born. Together Fonse & Niddy farmed in the Ossian area for over 40 years. Alphonse was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and upon his retirement he continued his love of the land by gardening and fishing.
