Obituary for Robert William Fink

Robert William Fink, 91, passed away Thursday June 28, 2012, at the Tripoli Nursing Home of natural causes. He was born in Tripoli, May 5,1921, the son of John and Malinda (Meier) Fink. Robert graduated from Tripoli High school in 1938. He served his country during WWII in the China, Burma, India, theatre. He and Margaret M. Rieck were united in marriage on March 24, 1944, in Warrensburg, MO. Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret, of Tripoli, son, Michael (Elaine) of Traer, son Barry (Kathy) of Sumner, and daughter, Carma Bouska of Waverly and his brother, Ralph, who lives in College Station,Texas He has two grandsons, Eric of Leesburg, VA, and Matthew, of Tripoli and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert worked at the Tripoli Produce and John Deere Waterloo Works (retiring in 1985). After retirement, Bob and Margaret wintered in Mesa, Arizona until 2009. Bob enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, playing cards, reading, and the Chicago Cubs. Robert was a life member of the CBI and VFW Post 4013. He was also a member of the United Church of Christ of Tripoli, and United Auto Workers Local 838. He was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother, Ray, and a sister, Eunice. He will be cremated as were his wishes. Services will be at Faith United Church of Christ, Tripoli, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3. Memorials may be directed to the family.
