Marjorie Alma Chamberlain

Marjorie Alma Chamberlain, 90, of Waukon, Iowa passed away Monday June 25, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Waukon. As were her wishes she will be cremated. Marjorie is survived by her children: Kathryn McFarlane of Tucson, AZ, Kenneth Chamberlain of Sierra Vista, AZ, and James Chamberlain of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister Elma Darnell; brother Allan Pape; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Chamberlain, daughter Mary Hager, sisters Vergie Fels and Irene Moen; and brothers Dean & Dale Pape. Marjorie Alma Pape was born January 10, 1922 to Elmer and Stella (Trapp) Pape in Winneshiek County, Iowa. She went to a country school in Winneshiek County and received her GED from NICC at Calmar, Iowa. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed at the St. Peters Lutheran Church in Eldorado, which is also where she was married to her husband Wayne Clinton Chamberlain on November 14, 1942. She has been a member of St. John''s Lutheran Church in Luana since 1943 and enjoyed volunteering her time there until she was 80 years old. In her spare time, she loved gardening, spending time outside in nature, playing cards, cooking, and entertaining visitors with coffee and conversation. Marjorie also loved to spend time with her family, who will miss her dearly.
