Dale Lytle

Dale E. Lytle, 81, of Solon, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at St. Luke''s Hospital. Celebration of Life Service will be held on August 5, 2012 at the Hiawatha Community Center from 5 to 11 pm. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Dale was born to Matt and Gladys Lytle on October 7, 1930 in Brookings, South Dakota. He served his country in the Army and was sent to Japan for occupational duty from 1948 to 1950; and in Korea in 1950 to 1951. He married Vivian Coughlin on October 7, 1951. He owned Webb''s Transmission Service for 27 years and retired in 1992. He worked part-time for Car Colors for eight years. He enjoyed going to Blue Grass Festivals in Iowa and surrounding states, playing cards with his family and hitting the casinos. He also enjoyed his annual Army Reunion with the 61st Field Artillery Battalion. Most of all he loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He is survived by his wife of 60 years; three sons, Dennis (Sheri); Tom (Kim) and Mark (Margie); six grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and a brother, Don (Eula) of Sacramento, CA The family wishes to thank all the nurses on fifth floor and the hospice nurses at St. Luke''s for their excellent care.
