Steve F. Cloke, 58, of Eldon, Iowa went home to be with his savior on January 9, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. Per Steve''s wishes his body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:30 AM in the Eldon Cemetery with Pastor Mark Clark officiating. A dinner will be served for friends and family at Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon following the service. He is survived by a significant other Becky Crowder; 3 daughters, Rachel (Taylor) Sword of Eldon, Jody Cox and Fiancé Rock Christofferson of Burlington, and Julie Cloke of Burlington; 6 grandchildren; and 2 sisters Chris Dejaynes of Sturgeon, MO and Bev Bredfeldt of Burlington, IA. Also surviving are 2 nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Hazel Cloke. Steven Francis Cloke was born October 5, 1953 son of Clarence and Hazel (Boettcher) Cloke in Ottumwa. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. After his military service Steve took college courses in welding, automotive, and truck driving. He worked for Dexter and Rockwell in Fairfield as a machinist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and puttering around with different projects. Steve always had a smile for everyone and would always help anyone in their time of need. The Cloke family would like to thank all the special people for their support and for making Steve''s life brighter throughout his illness. Memorials may be directed to the Veterans Hospital of Iowa City or Hospice of Davis and Wapello County in Ottumwa. Flower arrangements may be sent to Steve''s home.
