Obituary for Jim Graven

Jim K. Graven died peacefully Friday night in the company of his wife, Barb, and dear family friends. He was born January 20, 1940 in Greene. On September 12, 1958, Jim married Barbara Knapp in Galena, IL. Jim graduated from Greene High School in 1957 and received his BA from Wartburg College, Waverly in 1961 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa in 1963. He practiced law in Sac City and Early for 35 years. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Kelly (Henry) Perkins of Farmersville, TX; sons; Steve (Kim) Gravens of Bourbonnais, IL and Don of Carroll; grandchildren; Michele and Josh Perkins, Laura and Elizabeth Graven. Jim is preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis; parents; James and Florence Graven and brother, Norman Graven. Private family burial was held Monday, January 16, 2012 at Rosen Hill Cemetery in Greene, Iowa. Services are under the direction of Iowa Cremation.
