Robert L. Caldwell
Bob was such a dear man and always showed such kindness to my Mom (Mary Petersmith) at the Hiawatha Center. When he'd stop for Sunday service he always had a big smile and a pleasant word for everyone there. He is truly one of God's special angels!! My Love and prayers are with you all Margie & Family P.S. I'm sure that he and my Mom are having a big laugh as we speak!!
Was a member of the United Presperian Chorch on 2nd. St. in Whittier in the 1960's. I remember his son Bob and daughter Judy. he was a great person, and was minister for 12 years in Whittier, I seem to remember. He also Married my sister Sandra.
We were sad to hear of Dr. Robert Caldwell's passing. We first met Bob and Anna when they came to St. Columba's Church in Havelock North, New Zealand to be our minister for a few months. His services had such life and passion, always with a strong and powerful message that would serve you well. He did not read his sermons but preached from the heart. The Church was always full when he was with us. He was able to reach out to people like we had never seen before. He was truly a great man and orator. Even though you were in a large congregation you felt he was talking personally to you. We will never forget him. Our prayers are with Anna and family. Your friends in New Zealand, Karen and Graeme Jones
Dr. Bob as he was affectionally known to the people of St.Columba's and to the wider community was an amazing man. He reached into the heart and soul of folk from youngsters to the elderly and gave us all so much. His ministery to our congregation was as profound as it was basic and he delivered quite outstanding sermons! Even now after nearly thirty years the impact of his short time here still inspires us and we are much the richer! He loved New Zealand and returned many times with various groups and we all enjoyed the fellowship and the making of new friends! We now send our deepest love and sympathy to dear Anna and family as we mourn the loss of a great man - a Father and Friend You never stopped teaching to the very end! Rest in peace now dear Bob. With our love from Anne and John Slade and Family Havelock North New Zealand
