Marie Louise Tribuno

Marie Louise Tribuno, 88, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Sands Point, N.Y., died Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids, where she had been a resident for the past 2 years. She died very peacefully of complications from Alzheimer's disease. Services at 10 AM Tuesday in St. Matthews Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Osterhaus officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Monday with a wake service beginning at 6 PM.
Survivors include a son Robert F. and wife Bertha of Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Diane of Penngrove, Ca., and three grandchildren, Peter of Minneapolis, Michael of St. Louis, and Ann Louise of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Mario "Trib" Tribuno, an infant son, Peter, her parents, and numerous Irish setters and golden retrievers.
Marie Louise was born November 14, 1915 to Frank and Angela Cuneo. She married Mario "Trib" Tribuno on July 29, 1936, and bravely survived him by two years.
To her very end, Marie Louise was a consummate lady. She was adored by her parents, was devoted to her husband, and was "loved" by her children, grandchildren, and dogs. Ever the good home-maker, she cooked, entertained, gardened, and arranged flowers with great artistry. She and Trib always took great pleasure socializing and later cruising the world.
Her giggle and soft eyes will be missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
