Obituary for Jeanne R. Dirksen

Jeanne R. Dirksen, 87, of New Hampton passed away Wednesday September 21, 2011 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Jeanne was born June 26, 1924 to Earl and Mabel (Olmstead) Moore in Parkersburg, Iowa. She married John Dirksen October 10, 1942 in Missouri. To this union two sons were born and they farmed together in the Ionia area for many years. She also worked in many retail stores in New Hampton. Jeanne enjoyed playing cards and dominos with her husband and friends as well as spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons: Dan and "Sandy" Dirksen of Ionia, and Dave and "Karen" Dirksen of Flagstaff, AZ. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceding Jeanne in death are her parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, her husband John on December 26, 2004, and one grandson.
