Gary Lee Hamilton
Joyce and family, It was with great sadness that I read of your loss of Gomer. I send heartfelt prayers out to you and your family. You have been blessed to have a wonderful husband and father in your lives. May your days be filled with love and memories which will sustain you.
I hope that all the comments about the goodness of your Gomer help in your time of loss. I had a lot of fun working the fields in Conesville with Gomer. Never a dull moment. I don't think he ever let a moment of life pass without taking it all in. I am glad that Gomer grew up to have such a great family. May God Bless all of you!
My memory of Gomer dates back in grade school. Gomer was a member of my Dad's 4-H Club in Conesville. Part of 4-H included competing in a 4-H Softball league in Wapello, Iowa. It was a hot summer day when Gomer rode down to Wapello in on of the members car, who would not let them roll the windows down as they wanted people to think they had air conditioning. As soon as Gomer got to the softball field, he went up to my dad (Lewie Vincent) and said, "Mr. Vincent, can I ride back with you? It was hot in that other car." Of course Dad said sure. I'm sure Gomer and my Dad are talking about those memories now. Joyce, Claire, Anna, you are in my prayers, keep the memories.
Joyce and Family, You have our deepest sympathy during this difficult time. Dale and Jane Kreimeyer
I have a couple different memories of Gary. As a fellow bus rider on the bus going into Conesville elementary I can't count the number of times Mrs. Randall or one of the other bus drivers backing up from their driveway and getting stuck in the ditch. We always enjoyed being late to school. The other memory I remember of Gary was at Easter. We were helping with the Easter breakfast at the Grace United Church of Christ and Claire was just about preschool age. I commented to Gary what a good eater Claire was and he said "She's part carnivore." I also remember how much my Dad enjoyed Claire and Anna coming to church, Sunday School and Bible School. He really thought a lot of them, just like they were his own grandchildren.
We offer our sympathy to each member of your family. I'm connected as a Chown relative. May you find peace in the days ahead with the comfort of good memories.
Joyce and Family, My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very difficult time. David Roe

Gomer was truly one of a kind growing up as I am sure he was as a grown man. His loyalty and sense of deep caring for his friends and family (and his terrific sense of humor) were traits that remind me of Gomer. Here's hoping you catch the biggest catfish out there! Joyce - my heart goes out to you and your girls. Tuffy - I send you big hugs from across the country. You are all in my thoughts.
I am so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in the love from your family and friends. Remember the wonderful times that you have shared together to help thru these difficult times. Take care Joyce....
