Rhonda Jean Temby, 55, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at St. Luke''s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services are planned for a later date. Per her request, she has been cremated. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Survivors include her husband, Phil; Daughter, Nicole (Jason) Favalora of New Orleans, LA; Step-son, Philip Temby Jr. of Dallas, TX; Granddaughter, Gabrielle Favalora; Mother, Shirley Herdlicka of North English, IA; Siblings, Cheryl (Jerry) Webber of Cleburne, TX, Thomas Herdlicka of Richmond Hills, NY, Paul Herdlicka of Parnell, IA, Karen (Jeff) Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her father. Rhonda Jean Herdlicka was born September 12, 1956 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Ronald "Gene" & Shirley (Crawford) Herdlicka. She graduated from Deep River Millersburg High School in 1974. After high school, Rhonda moved to Texas where she met Phil and they married on January 1, 1994 in North English, Iowa. Following their marriage, they moved back to Cedar Rapids. During her lifetime, she has worked as a secretary for several companies including Southwestern Bell and NCOA. Phil then taught her how to drive a semi and they team drove for 5 years for R.H. Hummer Jr. and Barr-Nunn Transportation. Rhonda enjoyed crocheting and loved her cats. She especially enjoyed her granddaughter and will be greatly missed by all who loved her and knew her. Online condolences may be left at www.iowacremation.com under "obituaries".
