Marjorie L. Meseck

Marjorie Lois Meseck, 88, of Urbandale, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale with visitation at the church after 10 am. Marjorie was born July 29, 1922 in Lanesboro, IA the daughter of George and Hattie (Remsburg) Widman. She attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake and Westmar College in Le Mars earning her degree. Marjorie married Lawrence Meseck on November 21, 1943 in Storm Lake. She taught several years in Cylinder, Grinnell, Merrill, Hinton and Carroll. Marjorie was a lifetime member of the National Education Association and the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, playing dominoes and cards, winters in Arizona, and was a wonderful cook. She is survived by three daughters; Linda (Michael) Lewis of Cedar Falls, Laura (Vernon) Dew of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca (Rick) Harmon of Des Moines, three sons; David (Cindy) Meseck of Rochester, MN, Dr. Chuck (Patrice) Meseck of Thiensville, WI, Philip (Kathy) Meseck of Belvidere, IL, 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence in 2007, a grandson, Denver Meseck, 3 brothers, a sister and her parents. The family extends special thanks to Senior Suites of Urbandale, Health Care Initiatives (Central Iowa Hospice), Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and Urbandale Health Care Center.
