To the Soder family: I am so sorry to hear about Dean's passing. I remember getting to know Dean in Sweden at Grebbestad through Augustana College. I have very fond memories of that summer. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this time. Rachel VanGilder
I share my deepest sympathies with you. I am very grateful to have known Dean. He hired me about 23 years ago now at the University Hospital School then. I still remain employed there (now The Center for Disabilities and Development). I am so glad that he believed in me and let me take the place of his friend at that time, Lou Thomas. I remember him telling me I had big shoes to fill and I hope in Dean's eyes that I have done that. What a wonderful man he was. May you all find peace in your hearts at this time.
Helen- you hae my deepest sympathy. Dean was my PT supervisor here at CDD (UHS). He hired me in 1990 and worked with me until he retired. It was so special that he was able to celebrate my retirement with me last July. He was such a special man! From his soft spoken demeaner to his natty attire. Lots of people will miss him. Please let me know when you have the memorial service. My husband and i would love to be there. Joy
