Marvin Joseph Meints, 83, of Hampton passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Heritage Care Center, Mason City. Per Marvin’s wishes his body has been cremated. Memorial services are pending, arrangements by Iowa Cremation. Marvin was born May 1, 1927 in Ackley, IA the son of Joseph and Nancy (Freese) Meints. Marvin married Dorothy Evelyn (Brown) Klousia on October 24, 2003 in Nashua, IA. Marvin owned and operated Marv’s Pluming and Heating in Hampton for 24 years prior to this time Marvin worked for Carson Brothers in Ackley for 7 years and for Hampton Heating and Plumbing for 13 years. His church affiliation was with the United Methodist Church in Hampton, he was a member of Hampton Country Club for 48 years and a volunteer firefighter for many years in Hampton. Marvin enjoyed watching golf, football and westerns on TV, reading, fishing, bird watching, gardening, and traveling. Survivors include his wife Dorothy; stepchildren Kevin (Debra) Anway of Seattle, WA, Darla (Ronald) Consalvo of Wilmington, NC, and Christina (John) Schumacher of Marshalltown, IA; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife Lois J. (Kuper) Meints, parents, a sister Marsella Beasley, a brother Vance Meints, and a brother-in-law Larry Finnell.
