Enus M. (Bob) Nohre, 86, of Grundy Center, Iowa, formerly of Parkersburg and Marion, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center following a lengthy illness. Memorial Services: 1:30 pm Thursday, March 31, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Survivors include his wife, Joan of Grundy Center; Daughter, Jacquelyn Meyer (John) of Waterloo; Son, Scott Nohre of Marion; Granddaughter, Joanna Ramsden-Meier (Kevin) of Waterloo; Grandson, Jay Meier of Waterloo; Great grandchildren, Emma Leigh and Brady Michael Ramsden-Meier; Brothers, Stanton Nohre of Lisbon, ND, Harry Nohre (Lorena) of Fertile, MN; Sister, Fern Traverso of Prescott, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Enus Myron Nohre was born June 18, 1924 in Holt, Minnesota the son of Melvin & Inga (Olson) Nohre. After graduating from high school in Minnesota, he served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II. After the war, he attended the University of New Hampshire. On December 31, 1948 he married Joan Rude at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Enus worked at Pennick & Ford in Cedar Rapids for many years. He loved the Cubs, and especially former 3rd baseman and most recently Radio color analyst Ron Santo. He also loved kids and spent hours playing with his great grandchildren, chasing and being chased around the "loop" at Grandma''s house - well into his 80''s, developing many friendships with employees and gamblers alike at Tama. Enus was proud of his 100% Norwegian heritage, family vacations, enjoyed playing pinochle and cribbage with his brothers.
