Obituary for Charles August Behr

Charles August Behr, 83, of Mason City, died Sunday, March 27, 2011 following an extended illness. There will be no gathering or services. Per his wishes, he has been cremated. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Survivors include his sister, Lorraine Neal of St. Paul, Minnesota; Children, Jeff Behr of Auburn, California, Kevin (Sue) Behr of Corpus Christi, Texas, Barbara Behr of Iowa City, Iowa, Marcia Behr of Iowa City, Iowa, and Gail Behr of Spring Valley, Wisconsin; He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanke and Ida Behr and his sisters Helen Tyler and Eleanor Meeker. Charles August Behr was born July 1, 1927 in San Diego, California. He was married to Jean Greenfield on March 26, 1950 until her death in March 3, 1992. Charles was known for his 20 plus years of volunteer work in the community working with the Charlie Brown Day Care, MacNider Art Museum, and the Lime Creek Nature Center.
