Shirley Jean Duvall
Shirley Jean (Ray) Duvall, 69, of Tama, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Tama.
Shirley Jean Duvall was born February 12, 1942 in Huntsville, Alabama the daughter of Thomas and Audie C. (Upton) Ray. Most of her adult life was lived in the state of Iowa but always held a special place in her heart for Alabama. She was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her 6 children; 2 sons, Terry (Jone) Johnson of Coralville, Iowa; Michael (Karen) Johnson of Dewar, Iowa; 4 daughters, Marci Johnson of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; Kimberly (Bob) McFatridge of Tama, Iowa; Beth (Joe) Dean of Waterloo, Iowa and Renda Van Brocklin of Dysart, Iowa; including over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse 5 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons and her first husband and life-long friend Thomas Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name to the Davita Dialysis Center located in Marshalltown, Iowa or Fellowship Baptist Church located in Tama, Iowa.
