Michael A. Kelly, 72, of Van Horne, died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids. Per Michael’s wishes his body has been cremated. A gathering will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Van Horne Community Room. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Michael Ambrose Kelly was born at home on April 5, 1938 to Virgil and Mary (Bevins) Kelly in Van Horne, Iowa. Michael was united in marriage to Michele Catherine Houlahan on April 16, 1968 in Springville, IA. Michael was a self-employed farmer and antique dealer and he enjoyed the old west.
He is survived by his wife Michele; two sons Sean (Julie) Kelly of Cedar Rapids, and John Kelly of Phoenix, AZ; two grandsons Eric and Jared Kelly; and one brother James (Alene) Kelly of Belle Plaine, IA.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Joyce McCormack and Janice Bryant; and two brothers Monte and Colin Kelly.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
