Alyce Winkler

Alyce "Jacquie" Winkler, 60 of Vinton, passed away on September 17th, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin Iowa. A Celebration of Life in Vinton Iowa is to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to Iowa Cremation. Surviving family includes her siblings, Jennie Birdsell (Cletus), Janice Nicols (Gary), John Winkler (Nancy), Cindy Light (George), Clarence Winkler (Becky), and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Dorothy Winkler, sisters Joann and Julie and brother James Winkler. She was born February 6th 1950 in West Union Iowa. She was a resident of Vinton for 32 years where she developed many close friendships. She was recognized by her bright red hair zipping around town on her motorized cart. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, clothes shopping and bingo. She was proud of her extensive Cherished Teddies Collection and her Irish heritage. She will be forever in our hearts. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mercy Medical Center and Hospice of Mercy for their compassionate care and her many friends in Vinton for their many acts of kindness throughout the years. Memorials may be directed to the family at 504 Adams Avenue, Lisbon IA 52253.
