Julia Carne

Julia Carne, 91, of Keystone Place died Friday October 8, 2010 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short illness. Per Julia’s request there will be no visitation or service. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by her husband, Russel of Cedar Rapids and three nephews, James, John and Jerry Weremy all of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alex. Julia was born on December 2, 1918 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Parafen and Anna Weremy. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1936. Julia Married Russel Carne on October 24, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was past president of the Cedar Rapids Credit Bureau. Julia worked at Mc Gladrey-Pullen & Company as a bookkeeper and retired from there after many years of service. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
