Obituary for Dale Edward Oberg

Dale E. Oberg, 80, Lehigh Acres, FL and formerly of Galva, IL died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in his home in FL after a long battle with Parkinson Disease and emphysema. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Lehigh Acres Christian Church. Dale is survived by his wife of 60 years Ramona, "Mickey", a son Bobby (Mary) Oberg of Buda, IL, a daughter Penny (Scott) Peterson of Lehigh Acres, FL and a sister Katherine Stevens of IL. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a sister. Dale Edward Oberg was born February 26, 1930 in Galva, IL to Edward and Sara Alice Oberg. He graduated from Galva High School in 1947 and married Ramona Goodrich in Galva, IL on February 16, 1950. They spent many years farming in Henry County IL. Dale later was in various farm supply sales in IL. He retired as owner operator of Oberg Equipment Sales in IL and moved to FL in 1985. He was a member of Lehigh Acres Christian Church where served as elder for many years. The family requests donations be given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research or the American Cancer Society.
