Anna Belle Belcher

Anna Belle Belcher, 84, of Grinnell, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, October 30th at 2:30 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell with Pastor Don Johnston officiating. A graveside service was held following the service at Westfield Cemetery. Family and Friends were invited to gather at the church following the graveside service. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family. Ann was born on March 17, 1926 to Cyrus and Maggie (Emperly) Large in Sedan, Iowa. She was united in marriage to William Belcher on June 27, 1942 in Unionville, Missouri. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ann was a member of the Assembly of God church and was a Sunday school teacher, Women’s Missionary and ministered to the sick and elderly of the church through cards and visits. She was a loving, caring woman whose life was lived helping others. She was a creative talented lady who loved reading her bible and devotions, baking, gardening, sewing, many crafts and making doll clothes and furniture for her grandchildren. Hers was a home filled with love where family, friends and neighborhood children loved to gather. She was a very special person who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Bill; 5 children, Bill (Karon) Belcher of Burlington; Sheila (Don) Lane of Oskaloosa; Linda (Stan) Smith of Cedar Rapids; Ron (Deb) Belcher and Steve Belcher both of Grinnell; brothers, John (Doris) Large of Grinnell; Dean (Kayleen) Alter of Kellogg; sisters, Nelma McGuire of Wayland; Bonnie Halterman of Grinnell; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; daughter-in-law, Linda (Steve) Belcher; 1 grandchild; and 1 great grandchild.
