Maria “Mary” T. Martin, 82, of Columbus Junction, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Services are pending. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Maria Theresia Martin was born on January 21, 1928 to Ferdinand and Marie Brusenbach in Zwittau, Czech Republic. She came to the United States in 1956 and was united in marriage to Bill Martin on November 22, 1956. They made their home outside of Columbus Junction. Mary owned and operated a gift and ceramic shop in Wapello for 8 years. She loved her family very much. Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and adored her new great grandson Cully.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bill; daughters, Annette (Jon) Bell of Columbus City; and Brenda (Tim) Miller of Wapello; and Sylvia Koskie of Nashua, Iowa. 2 brothers, John Brusenbach of Canada and Alex Brusenbach of Germany; 5 grandchildren, Sam (Abby) Allworth, Sean (Megan) Allworth, Trey (Tiffany) Stephens, Kami Stephens, and Cobi Miller; and 1 great grandchild, Cully Stephens.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fred Brusenbach and Sister Bridgette Brusenbach.
