Harley Feldick

I was saddened to here of Harley's passing yesterday at church. He has been a stalwart Christian and outstanding Bible teacher. I remember more than 20 years team-teaching a class on Deuteronomy and was impressed with his knowledge of scripture. I will miss his weekly greeting at church but look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Sincerely, Doug Flanagan

Although I was never fortunate enough to meet Harley before his passing, I have heard wonderful, colorful, and funny stories about him and his family over the years through his daughter, Barbara. He sounded like a great father and husband, an awesome practitioner, and a wonderful humanitarian. He is surely missed by many. I send my deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his wife, children, and grandchildren. May your happy memories of him and your family help you through this difficult time. Sincerely, Lisa B. I'd like to offer my sincere condolences to the Feldick family. I remember "Doc" Feldick from my visits to the Buffalo Center Clinic and Hospital. I graduated from high school with his daughter, Virginia but have since loss contact since graduation. I learned of his passing tonight from my mom who still lives in Buffalo Center. I wanted to let the family know that their "past" acquaintances are thinking of them at their time sorrow. God Bless you all. Randy Patterson

Today I heard of Harley's passing and immediately, I thought of so many nice things he did for me over the years.... My freshman year I seemed to see him the most.... stitches, separated shoulder, emergency surgery for blood clot in lower leg, on and on... Dr. Feldick was always a bright spot in my memory, and how good he was to me as a young freshman coming into a large University. He always had that smile on his face, like a father who knew you did something wrong... and he told me I did a few times too.... He remained steady the next 3 years and I always enjoy talking to him..... This is a sad day for many Iowa football players and other student athlete's who know him over the years... I know Harley helped many, and I think he enjoyed being part of the University staff as much as we liked having him as our doctor. God Bless to his family and God Bless to you Dr. Feldick for all the good you have done ! Jon Lazar Iowa Co-Captain - Football - 1978

Just wanted to pass along my thoughts & prayers to the Feldick family. I have always been an admirer of Harley's and appreciated his zeal for the Lord. From my view, he was a loving husband & father -- and his grandsons loved him greatly. I know he's trying to give God a few theology lessons -- between Harley & my own grandfather -- hopeyfully they've got their dispensations straight...

Some mixed emotions, always so sad to say goodbye to such a great friend, but Harley is now in Heaven with his father and I am sure getting many questions answered, I am actually happy God finally took Harley home, his days are now much better! I thoroughly enjoyed bible teaching from him, it inspired great thought and further study by me, Harley was very well versed and completly loved God's word, it was a pleasure to study with him and pursue the many questions in life! I was also privileged to have Doc in my boat fishing many times. I was maybe a bit strenuous in my teasing of him, he was a bit unorthodox in his approach to catching walleyes and northern, he had huge tackle boxed, loaded with nice lures, and we always ended up fishing with worms, it never seemed right to Harley. We spent many a wonderful Canadian evening fishing and discussing God's word out on a beautiful Canadian lake. I will not forget the "Pith" helmut he always wore to stay out of the sun! I am sure amny of you also will remeber the light blue, polyester leisure suit with the white patent leather slip in shoes, and of course a fresh afro hairdo! Grat guy, can't wait to see him again in Heaven...he'll be missed!

My first memory of Dr. Feldick was in First Grade in the Buffalo Center Consolidated School. Harley was a Senior. Later he was a Life Guard at the local swimming pool. What a dashing figure he cut. When he took over the Buffalo Center Hospital, he became our family doctor. I spent a lot of time visiting that hospital during my Senior year of high school with a suspected case of Rheumatic Fever. When Harley and Norma moved into the house directly behind ours, I became the babysitter for both Barbie and Mark for a couple of years. Many a good hour was spent in their back yard jumping on their trampoline. I cherish these memories and am sad to hear of Harley's passing; but also rejoice for him in his neavenly home. My prayers are for Harley's family and that their own memories will sustain them in the days ahead. Sincerely, Carol (Heitland) Maxwell
