Steven Richard Dyre

Steven R. Dyre, 65 of Muscatine, IA passed away Thursday, May 13, 2010, at All-American Care. A remembrance gathering will be held at The Brew in Muscatine on May 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Steve was the son of Elmer Dyre and Bettie Lou Winslow. He was born April 29, 1945 in Mason City, IA. Steve was employed by Chicago & North Western Railway Co. in Mason City for several years. He was a wonderful father and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In his life he was a High Diver, a gymnast, a race car driver, and a golden glove boxer. Steve had a love for music; playing the organ in a local band and enjoying the music of the Beatles. He was passionate about cars and his Corvette was his pride and joy. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his "other daughter" LeAnna for always being there for him, the old Bootleggers gang, Annie at the Clark House for being such a great neighbor and friend, the Trinity ICU nurses and the staff of All-American Care and Hospice Compassus. Steve is survived by his mother, Bettie Lou Winslow; 2 children, Michelle (Kevin) McCullough of Muscatine, IA and Richard Dyre; 5 grandchildren, Dustin Olinger, Tauni Dyre, Michael Miller, Maleah Miller, and Peyton Tucker;1 great-grandchild, James Dean Dyre; and three brothers, Barry (Sue) Dyre of Gibbon, MN, Mark (Linda) Dyre of New Brighton, MN, and Tom Dyre. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Dyre; stepfather, Ford Winslow; and a son, Troy.
