Dale D. Kubicek

Dale D. (Pete) Kubicek, 83 of Osage, IA passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Pete was the son of John and Mary Kubicek. He was born March 13, 1927in McIntire, IA. He joined the Marines at the age of 17 and served 2 years for our country during World War II. On April, 15, 1950 Pete was united in marriage to Dona Green at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, IA. To this union, three children were born. In 1954 Pete started a drywall and painting business that he operated until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed collecting arrowheads, gardening, hunting mushrooms, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with family. Dale is survived by his wife, Dona, his children, Clay (Jeanne) Kubicek of Joplin, MO and Clare (Richard) Smith of Clovis, CA; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Olive Ellis of Charles City, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Kubicek, a son, Kent, 3 brothers, and a sister.
