Peggy Ann Parker

Peggy Ann Parker, 78, of Rockford, Iowa, died March 26, 2010 at the end of a five-year battle with health problems. A memorial service will be held 5:30 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Rockford. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa. Surviving are her daughter Patricia (Michael) Sinning, and her son Michael (Judy) Parker; grandchildren Michelle Pierce, Ryan (Meghan) Sinning, Corinne (Jerry) Fenton, Jessica Sinning; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy (Jo Jo), and her brother Robert Fischer, Sr. Peggy Ann Parker was born December 10, 1931 in Charles City, Iowa the daughter of Otto and Meta (Batty) Fischer. She grew up and spent her life in Rockford. She was united in marriage to Roy E. Parker (Jo Jo) on May 14, 1954 in Austin, MN, he preceded her in death on August 8, 1983. She was part owner and operator of Fischer Chevrolet and Implement with her family, and retired in 1993. She also owned Jo Jo''s Café for many years in addition to being a landlady. Peggy enjoyed and loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the hobbies of gardening flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables. She loved working on her rental properties and will be remembered for her hard work and dedication. Other past times included sewing, making sweaters, rag rugs, homemade pies, bread, and canning. She also had a great passion for her Weimaraner dogs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
