Nicholas W. Boatwright, 60, of Urbandale, IA died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the Mercy Hospice House, Johnston following a lengthy illness. No services are planned at this time. The Cremation Society of Central Iowa is assisting the family. Survivors include his daughter, Amelia Boatwright of Urbandale; Son, Benjamin Boatwright of Seattle, WA; Brothers, Wayne and Mark Boatwright, both of Des Moines; Sisters, Alice Bossuet and Theresa (Frank) Madonia, both of Des Moines and Christine (Jerry) Halsten of Urbandale, and parents-in-law Sandy and David Smitherman. Also surviving are 6 nieces and 10 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Teresa (Smitherman) Boatwright in 2004, sister, Gayle Evans, brother, Stephen Boatwright. Nicholas Wayne Boatwright was born October 19, 1949 in Des Moines, IA the son of Wayne & Natalie (Freeman) Boatwright. In life Nick was a loving husband, wonderful father, a caring brother, and a strong brave man.
