Floyd Squier

Floyd C. Squier, 89, of Vinton, IA passed away Friday, June 11, 2010, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Floyd was the son of Roy and Emma (Frankfield) Squier. He was born December 27, 1920 in Orchard, IA. On June 27, 1951, Floyd married Virginia Cottrell at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He farmed for 11 years before moving to the Waterloo area where he worked for the postal service for 20 years before his retirement. Floyd was a member of St. Paul''s Methodist Church in LaPorte City. He greatly enjoyed his time spent reading, doing crossword puzzles, painting, and spending time with his wife, Virginia, of 58 years. Floyd is survived by his wife, Virginia; a sister-in-law Rosemary (Les) Kampman of Vinton, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Emma Squier; and 2 brothers Paul and Dale Squier.
