Charles William Ihlenfeldt

Charles Ihlenfeldt, 75, of Anamosa, died on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Jones Regional Medical Center after a battle with ALS. A memorial service will be held at 11:00, Saturday, June 19, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting the family. Charles William Ihlenfeldt was born April 22, 1935 in Farmersburg, the son of Lawrence and Marietta (Schuldt) Ihlenfeldt, and grew up in Waterloo. After high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1956. He married Delores Folken on June 22, 1958 in Anamosa. Most of his working life was spent as a truck driver. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially at his family cabin on the Mississippi river. He is survived by his wife Delores (Dee), three daughters; Darci (Terry Caudill) Dullea of Ely, Diane (John) Martin of Aurora, IL, and Denise (Steve Klinger) Ihlenfeldt of Long Beach, CA. Also surviving are grandchildren Courtney (Wayne Mann) Dullea, Patrick and Matthew Martin, Loren and Sean Klinger, Chantell Caudill, great grandchild Cayden Mann, brothers-in-law Edward and Louis Folken, sisters-in-law Marilyn Schmidt and Rosemary and Butch Folken, and many nieces and nephews. Charles is preceded in death by an infamt daughter Tracy, and his parents.
