Robert Wendell Baker
To the family Wendell Baker, I am happy for your memories and I will be thinking of you as you cope with the loss of your father. Sincerely, Rochelle
I am one of the younger cousins, Kay Weidner's younger sister. Always enjoyed any chance to see and visit with Wendell. I stayed with he and Fran the summer of 1948 while I worked at Zelinsky Hardware in town before going off to college at Ames. We did get to visit with him in Florida the winter of 1996 when we visited my brother in the Ft. Meyers area after I retired. He was always such a friendly guy and I know you will all miss him dearly. We send our sympathy for your loss. Shirley and Paul Maxwell
I first met Wendell at Wathan's Flying Svc, when I worked at the airport for Ozark Airlines. A few years later, we also became co-workers at Welty Way Products & Iowa Precision. Wendell was always a polite, caring, quiet, gentleman with a ready smile for all. My condolences to his family . Judy Vanek
We will miss you Wendell. We are so glad we were able to spend an hour together in July on our last visit to Iowa. We were good friends for many years Cap. Love, Mike and Michelle
We will miss you, Grandpa, for as long as our lives continue. Even though yours is over, you have left quite a legacy. Though you no longer breathe, your instruction, example, and love was breathed into others who are still learning from you. Thank you for your service to our country as a WWII pilot. Thank you for showing us that staying cheerful is best. Thank you for creating so many memories we will cherish and reminisce over for generations. Thank you for ALL you did! ...also, a special thanks to those who have posted their experiences with Grandpa Baker. Much appreciated! =)
I remember you all with respect and warmth from my days teaching eighth-grade language arts at Taft and from when you were members at St. Mark's. I wish to extend my sympathy upon Wendell's passing.
