Paula Nixon

Paula E. Nixon, 62, of Washington, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010, from complication of breast cancer at The Halcyon House Care Center in Washington. Per Paula’s wished her body has been cremated. No services are planned at this time. Paula is survived by her daughters Tracy Jean Nixon of New London, IA, and Michelle Eileen Nixon of Waterloo, IA; her father Elmer Phillips; mother Marian Horn; a sister Pamela Jackson of Washington, IA; two brothers Gary (Linda) Phillips of Selma, IA, and Alan Boese of Lockridge, IA; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her step-father Dale Boese, and her grandparents. Paula was born February, 27, 1948 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Marian (Horn) Phillips. Paula graduated high school from the Fairfield Community Schools. She worked for Metro Mail Inc. for 4 years, Perfex Inc. for 12 years and for the United Presbyterian Home for 12 years. Paula enjoyed collecting old coins, new state coins, pictures of movie stars, reading romance novels, and she loved cats. Paula was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend and will greatly missed by all who knew her.
