Obituary for Donald C. Ruth

Donald C. Ruth, 78, of Clarksville, IA passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donald Carl Ruth was the son of August and Clara Ruth. He was born January 5, 1932 on his parent’s farm in Bremer County. Don worked at a creamery in Benson, IA and later at the creamery in Sumner, IA. He then did correspondence courses for TV repair and opened his own TV repair business in Sumner and later in Grundy Center and Parkersburg; he retired in 1993 and greatly enjoyed fishing. On December 28, 1950 he married Florence Frey, they were later divorced. Donald married Mary Skubinna on September 17, 1982 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Don is survived by his wife, Mary; 3 children, Sharon (Ron) Shoup of Grundy Center, IA, Ron (Rose) Ruth of Carroll, IA, and Jeff (Teri) Ruth of Anoka, MN; 1 brother, Ralph Ruth; 2 sisters, Marjorie Pruin and Joyce Rademaker; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and a step-son Neil (Donna) Skubinna of Swansborough, NC and Peanut (his beloved cat). He was preceded in death by his parents August and Clara Ruth; a son Michael, a grandson Scott, 2 brothers, John and Ed Ruth, and a sister, Doris Ward.
