Byron Earl Moore

Byron E. Moore, 67, of Seymour, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Centerville. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family. Byron Earl Moore was born on August 25, 1942 to Andrew and Ruby Rider Moore in Phoenix, Arizona. He was united in marriage to Linda Rockwood on August 24, 1964 in Salmon, Idaho. He proudly served 12 years in the US Navy before and during Vietnam. He also served in the Washington Army National Guard for 13 years. He retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington in 1997. Byron was a volunteer Firefighter and EMT in Washington for 10 years and a Councilman in Seymour. His hobbies included camping, fishing, and home remodeling. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Seymour; son, Byron Lee (Charlene) Moore of Kenai, Alaska; daughter, Melynda Castaneda of Bremerton, WA; sister, Dixie (Mrs. Joe) Stanfield, of Marshall, TX; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Byron was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be sent to Mercy Hospice in Centerville, Iowa.
